They belong to the same family. They are similar, but not identical.

The thing about clay and functional work is that there are so many delicate steps between start and finish. At any given point, things could go in all sorts of possible directions, especially in the kiln. How these painted bowls will look after two firings is an educated, experienced guess, but a guess nonetheless.

Not so much with painting on canvas or paper. The marks are the marks. Aren’t they? Please discuss.
